Adlington Folk Dance Club, Cheshire - Report 2016
This year the club Ball location was changed to Macclesfield Town Hall, which was very successful. It was a sell-out, making a surplus on the event. The same location has been booked for 25th March 2017 with Colin Hume as the Dancing Master and Saraband providing the music.
In June the team, with the help of three couples from Regency ReJigged, took part in an International Folk Festival in Montana, Bulgaria. A very successful trip despite the heat, our Regency style of dance was so different to the Bulgarian dances and also the other 4 visiting teams from Greece, Albania, Armenia and Russia. We found Bulgaria to be a very friendly and welcoming country, we were in the North-West with stunning scenery.
Later this year in October 7 couples from the club are holding a party dance to celebrate significant Wedding anniversaries; one for 60 years, 2 at 55, 3 at 50 and one 40 all during this year. A total of 360 years of marriage.
